Collaboration of Dish TV and Amazon Prime Video

Customers of Dish TV and d2h are having access to a pre-loaded Amazon Prime Video app on its hybrid set-top box. With this agreement, Dish TV and d2h subscribers can access the Amazon Prime Video app on their TV and enjoy Amazon's latest and exclusive blockbuster Hollywood, Bollywood, and Indian regional movies, top TV shows, stand-up comedies, kids programmes, including critically-acclaimed Indian and global Amazon Originals, with a single device. 

Dish TV India brings together linear broadcasting and internet streaming material in a seamless manner with the launch of the Hybrid set-top box. The association's goal is to provide a hassle-free experience to its clients by offering quick access to huge content selections and high-quality entertainment via Prime Video.  Now the question arises what is this Hybrid Set-top box?

Hybrid Set-Top Boxes are the latest trend in the Indian broadcasting industry. Airtel Internet TV, which was announced in 2017, was most likely India's first hybrid Set-Top Box. Dish TV has released Dish SMRT Hub, which gives subscribers an alternative option for watching OTT content directly on their Set-Top Box. In other developments, Cable TV providers are developing their own hybrid Set-Top Boxes that allow consumers to view both Cable TV and OTT material.

Previously, Dish TV India Limited offered the SMRT Stick and Magic Stick, which allowed consumers to stream content from OTT providers via Dish TV and d2h set-top boxes, respectively. Furthermore, with an emphasis on premium short-form content, the firm entered the OTT industry by developing its own OTT platform. With this, Dish TV goes another step towards offering consumers across all segments entertainment from linear and online sources on any screen. More linked gadgets and technologies are on the horizon.
