- Shivaji Satam aka ACP Pradyuman worked as a cashier with Central Bank of India for 23 years before he realised that acting is his bigger passion and left his job to pursue his passion. So much for his love for acting that he was even performing for some theatre shows while working in bank.
- His acting career started with performing in Marathi movies and TV shows before he was spotted by makers of CID to play our favourite detective.
- The first-ever episode of now named “CID” was shot 6 years before it finally aired. The pilot episode was shot in 1992 and was named as Kissa Zahar Ka: Part 1 which finally aired on TV in 1998.
- Popular and critically acclaimed film director Ashutosh Gowariker and Hindi movie actress Yami Guatam also appeared in the early episodes of CID which clearly indicates how popular this show was way back in 90s.
- This show even made its name registered in Limca Book of Records for filming an entire episode in single cut in October 2004. The entire cast and crew shot relentlessly for this 111 minute-long episode which was then aired on TV without any commercial break to maintain the tempo.
- Airing for the first time in 1998, CID is the longest-running show in the history of Indian television and ran for almost two decades.
